Each accepted press application allows for up to four (4) press badges. These badges are non-transferable, and those picking up the badge will need to show proper identification to prove their association with the press company they are representing.
We request all applicants provide links to or a copy of coverage of the convention.
Qualifications for a Press badge:
Every person attending must be able meet and supply some or all the following items.
- Legitimate News and Press outlet organizations. (including High School / College Press)
- Must have been in operation for at least two years.
- Business cards with full name, title, contact information and organization logo.
- We cannot accept business cards without printed name and contact information.
- Web based outlets may need to provide traffic analytics, upon request.
The following will NOT be considered for a Press badge. You may still apply and we will take you into consideration for a complementary badge:
- Personal blogs
- Cosplay photographers
- Photo galleries
- Micro bloggers
Photographers that charge attendees for photoshoots on the convention premises will NOT be considered for a Press or a complementary badge. You are invited to purchase an attendee badge.
Status of application will be sent to the email address provided. If the application is approved the applicant will receive an email verifying their confirmation. Once approved, you will receive an email confirming your application acceptance.Each person approved for press must register separately.

Anime California reserves the right to refuse Press badges without reason at any point of the pre-registration and on-site registration process.
Failure to comply with our Press policies and all other Anime California policies may result in revocation of your Press badge.
If you have already purchased or otherwise obtained your membership for Anime California, you will not receive an additional membership. If you are Staff or are getting your membership for free (pass-on, prize, etc.) you will not receive an additional membership.
No transfers, roll-overs, pass-on, or refunds will be given.
For those Press outlets that wish to provide media coverage for Anime California or film at the convention, they must supply their own waiver forms that must be signed off by the head of Press. A copy of all video footage must be provided to Anime California.
The following WILL NOT be provided as part of your complimentary badge.

Guest Interview Procedure
All interviews with official Anime California guests must be requested and arranged with our Press Relations staff by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Our staff will arrange interviews with guests, and their representatives as their schedules allow. Requesting an interview does not guarantee that one will be arranged.
Ad Hoc Interviews
Interviews with general members, dealers, other than official Anime California guests do not require Press relations staff approval.
